We are excited to annouce Dr Nicole Samuel as the winner of the new, Community Minded Research Award, in partnership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Nicole's award winning research:
'Disclosing Racial Trauma in Psychological Therapies: Exploring the Experiences of Racially Minoritised People in the UK'.
Nicole can be seen here with our founder, Helen George, and Clare Symons, Head of Research at BACP, being presented with the £500.00 prize award.
Based on the significant findings In Nicoles' research, our founder issued a clarion call to the counselling and psychotherapy profession for their help in taking action to prevent the harm that is being caused in the therapy room when clients disclose their experiences of racism. Helen stated, "For too long now, us racially minoritised therapists have been left to do all the work - and the significant findings of Nicole’s research tells us that there is still much more work to do."
